I love Rock Manor. Although they just aerated their greens and some fairways are in bad shape, overall it is nice. We have had a really hot summer so they can't be blamed entirely. The rough is in very good condition. I played here in July and the course was in much better condition. I really like this course. It gives you a links style feel without being a links course. Bunkers are in great shape. The greens have a lot of ball marks which should be fixed by golfers. Too many people are not fixing ball marks. But this is on all courses. Great amenities with a range, chipping and putting green. Nice staff and carts have GPS which are very accurate. You can tell that they are putting money into the course. The cart path alone is the best anywhere. I will play this course many times and would recommend to others.

Long hitters should eat up Rock Manor even from the tips but straight hitters will do just as well. The fairways require accurate drives although the rough is not that penal. There is an bundance of mounding along the fairways to keep things interesting.
Rock Manors greens are very smooth and have lots of undulations. While they have plenty of bunkers around them, they also have open fronts with short cropped chipping areas. When you reach the green, only half the work is done.
There are moderate elevation changes and it is an easy walking course. The practice facilities are great with a full driving range, putting green and separate green for pitching and chipping. The staff has been friendly and helpful every time I have played there (5X). The $55 ticket for morning tee time is a bit high for this public track but the $45 fee for afternoons seems about right.

The course is nice, but the management are among the most disorganized group I have ever encountered. Just getting somebody to answer the phone is a challenge and when we finally arrived, they had overbooked and we were forced to tee off on # 10. Pace of play was very slow. They need to shake up their staff and remind them they have paying customers.
